From a young age, Matthew Williams found joy in working with timber, crafting furniture, and experimenting with architectural forms. As he pursued his studies and a career as a model maker, his fascination with design and construction continued to blossom.

Having traversed through London, Dubai, and Auckland, Matthew, an English-born artist, eventually settled in Christchurch. His artwork beautifully adapted to each locale, drawing inspiration from the local materials available. Embracing regional wood and stone, he skillfully molds contemporary shapes that breathe life into his sculptures. Expanding his artistic horizons, Matthew mastered the manipulation of bronze and steel, enriching his repertoire of mediums to create powerful abstract forms that define his unique style.
